People tend to think that the human consists of a body, a mind and a soul.
I beg to differ.
I do agree with the body and the mind and I won't argue that humans have no soul.
But in my opinion the human heart - which is where the soul lives - does not only contain one soul.
Yes I do believe that each human has his or her own, distinct soul, but I don't think it is there alone.
It is always there with fragments of souls of other people.
People this human had been in longer contact with.
Each time we spend time with other people, their souls start trickling into our hearts.
The speed of this process is dependant on multiple factors.

It hurts.
Being alone, I mean.
It hurts in a way that is hard to bear.
Sometimes we don't notice that we are alone.
Then it doesn't hurt that much, but inside...
It still hurts inside.
You will know once you notice that you're alone.
You will feel all that pain which built up inside without you noticing.
We are not made to be alone.
It lies in our nature to be surrounded with others.
Thus we crave the company of others - which is kinda funny.

He drew a deep breath, the aftermath of crying still shaking his body as he did so.
And then he heard a voice ta

The tree in my mind...
The first I saw her it was in my dreams.
Her memory planted a seed deep in my mind which started to grow.
The tree which emerged from that seed is still there and all the time I waited for her to return to my dreams.
I waited, I hoped, I prayed... But she didn't appear.
All I was left was the growing tree she had left in my mind.
And now the cocoon that surrounded my world has split open and I could get out and explore the new world around it.
Instead I choose to remain in the safe confines of my cocoon.
But fate is harsh and like man squishing a bug it ripped apart not just my cocoon, but also my world and shred it to pieces.
